Ice Cream Tubes – The End of the Story

In our little corner of paradise

In our little corner of paradise, there is a young videographer who raises the level of a floor every year. His plans are magnificent and his work in post-production monstrous. Geek (in the good sense of the word), he knew how to use the internet as an incredible cultural weapon, enriching it every day with an ultra-sharp artistic repertoire. His influences and his determination today make César Abadie one of the most gifted ski film directors of our generation.

If his work is excellent, his cast is more delicate than at HEC or Centrale. Only the creme de la creme of Pyrenean philosophy is invited in his videos. Intellectuals and other great thinkers of our sport appear there and undoubtedly bring their stones to the building of the Tubes.

If you clicked on the link expecting to see only park, Ninja Cork’s quads, and superpipe, the best thing you have to do is click on the red tab at the top right of your screen…

Because if at the Tubes aerobatics are part of their daily life, the state of mind of the latter is far from Follow US. The boxes motivate them as much as an AOC cutlet (from Barèges) and the color of the medals only reminds them of the great glasses bowls of “yolk”, which they savor between two days in the snow. Here, it smells like the dampness of a Royalty, the day after Rendez-vous, it sticks as much as the floor of a peña on a feria evening, the hits come from the south and it doesn’t take long for us to understand it!

Following the release of this teaser, I chatted with César to find out a little more about what is likely to be the Pyrenean nugget for the start of the school year.

Hi César, can you tell us the names of the riders we will find in this new video?

The riders are essentially the same as before: Malcolm Faure, Lucas Abadie, François Thevenet, Simon Noguère, and Valentin Cazaux. But in addition, we filmed with a lot of people this season, like Antoine Baduel, the Nosafes (Camille Clément and PA), Arthur Pommiers, Felix Prat, Jof Marcou, Thomas Sarrameda, the friends of Matière Blanche and much more…

Did you move this winter to be able to film?

As for the spots, we stayed in our dear and tender Pyrenees. We pulled a little to the West (Formigal, Gourette, Artouste, etc…) then sometimes we went to say hello to friends in the neighboring valleys (St-Lary, Piau, Peyragudes) without forgetting to have a little fun with us (Luz and Cauterets). In any case, we didn’t go too far to touch the Pyrénées Orientales (it seems that the guys are weird around Font-Romeu). Afterward, we took advantage of the few snowfalls at low altitude to Streeter on Saint-Lary, Cauterets, the Artouste power plant, and other small spots here and there.

Did your season go well overall?

In general, I would say that the season was mixed because we filmed a lot less than in previous years. We all had a schedule that meant that we could never see each other, but we always remained so motivated and stupid when we found each other… Ahahah!!

Does the title really announce the end of your story?

No, this is not the end of the Tubes story, strictly speaking, because the Tubes are eternal!! ^^

It’s simply the end of the classic video format. Next year, we may be on another format (podcast or web episode) even if I don’t like this format…

Can I write it? You can write it, I totally assume it! No, I just want to calm things down with the Tubes, I try to take more time for myself, to be able to work on other more profitable projects. If the Tubes allowed me to live, of course, I would make Ice Cream Tubes all year round!! Ahahah!

Last question, can you tell us the release date of the film??

End of September! Before the chops would be nice!

Hail Caesar!
